Clarissa Sumner lives in Terryville  Ct. with her husband Dr. Harvey Sumner, pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Thomaston, Ct.

 Clarissa is a sewing instructor and quilt enthusiast. After working with colors in fabric for some forty years, she turned to a palate of paints and pastels under the tutoring of Ray White, at his studio, Artworks Studio/Gallery, in Plymouth, Ct. Clarissa is also a member of the Nutmeg Artists, and the Bristol Quilting Guild.

 The mother of four grown, married children, eight grandchildren, and two more inherited by marriage, Clarissa states the she feels like Grandma Moses starting painting so late in life. She feels that her,   " art from the heart" gives her relaxing pleasure that she needs in her busy world, and it's hectic schedules.
